Minutes of Witham St Hughs Personnel Committee meeting held in closed session on Tuesday 9th January 2024 at 7.15pm, at the Witham St Hughs Village Hall.
Present Cllr Danny Bell – Vice Chair, Cllr Derek Fletcher & Cllr Charlie Strickland.
Agenda Items
1. Welcome and apologies.
Cllr Bell welcomed everyone to the meeting.
No apologies
2. To receive Declarations of Interest under the Localism Act 2011 – being any pecuniary interest in agenda items not previously recorded on Members’ Register of Interest and requests for dispensations.
None received.
3. Staffing.
The Clerk made comment that the Annual Appraisals for all team members, including herself had taken place with no issues or concerns highlighted.
Cllr Bell passed on his thanks to the Clerk and the team for the work during the last year.
The Clerk presented Councillors with the new salary scales for the Clerk and the new minimum wage rates from 01.04.2024.for consideration.
After discussions it was Resolved to approve a salary increase for the Clerk by one SCP point to SCP30 and the Caretakers/Litter Picker to £12phr. W.e.f 01.04.2024.
The Clerk asked if the Council would consider changing from the existing NEST pension scheme to the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS), costings & benefits would need to be investigated beforehand.
