Witham St Hughs Allotment Committee

Minutes of Witham St Hughs Allotment Committee meeting held on Monday 25th July 2022 at 7pm, in the village hall. 

Present Cllr Harrison – Chairman, Claire Shepherd Cargills Representative & Karl Gandy.

7 members of the public.

Comments were received from the public, regarding a water supply , rubbish on the plots and the longevity of the allotments at their current location. 

Agenda Items

1.   Welcome & Apologies

Apologies were received from Stuart Traves & Cllr Bell

It was Resolved to accept the reason for absence – All Agreed.

2.   TO RECEIVE DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE LOCALISM ACT 2011 – being any pecuniary interest in agenda items not previously recorded on Members’ Register of Interest and requests for dispensations.

3.   Notes of the Allotment Committee meeting held on Wednesday 27th April 2022 to be approved as minutes.

It was Resolved to approve the notes as minutes – All agreed, signed by Chairman.

4.   Report from Liaison Officer to include 

a.   Update on the clearing of the rubbish – date of skip to be delivered.

The Allotment co-ordinator had sent comment that 2 skips had been delivered, they are being collected on 27.07.2022, 2/3 more skips were still required to clear all the rubbish that was still at the allotments. The additional cost would need to be approved by full council before they would be ordered.

Action Clerk.                                  

b.   Vacant Plot numbers.

The liaison officer made comment that there are currently, 2 full plots & 8 half plots available, the vacant plots had recently been strimmed. 

5.   To set the date for plot inspections.

Inspections will take place before the end of August by Cargills or two members of the Committee. The Clerk was asked to issue plot holder maps
